Tailored Medical Approaches for Effective Weight Management

Our medical therapy approach covers two key areas. First, we’ll review the medications you’re currently taking for chronic conditions. Many drugs, including certain oral anti-diabetics, antidepressants, and antihypertensives, can contribute to weight gain. We’ll suggest alternatives to your primary care/ specialist if possible. Secondly, we’ll assess your eligibility for anti-obesity medications, ensuring you’re fully informed about side effects and contraindications before starting any new medication.

Weight loss medications can include any of the following:

  • Phentermine
  • Orlistat
  • Metformin
  • Oral hydrogel
  • Phentermine-topiramate ( QSYMIA)
  • Naltrexone-Bupropion(CONTRAVE)
  • GLP-1 and GIP receptors agonists, including Wegovy, Ozempic, Saxenda, and Mounjaro

It’s important to note that we’ll carefully evaluate any contraindications, potential side effects, and interactions with any current medications you’re taking. If you’re on insulin, we’ll need to adjust the dose when starting some medications.
