Weight loss is not about eating less and exercising more. If that were true, we would all be fit and healthy, and I would not be following my passion.

I am trained in internal medicine and started my medical journey working in outpatient and hospital settings for the last six years.

I have seen and treated obesity complications ranging from hypertension, hyperlipidemia, sleep apnea, heart attacks, heart failure, strokes, gallbladder disease, fatty liver, type 2 diabetes and its complications (dialysis, limb amputations, vision loss), osteoarthritis, cancers to depression, anxiety and eating disorders. Would the patient get better? Yes, but unfortunately, not too long until the next complication surfaces. I felt like I was putting a patch over their problems and not fixing them, and I wanted to do more. Still, I did not know how until I learned about the Obesity Medicine Association, which offers training and certification in obesity. I immediately dived into training and passed the board exam.

Now, I have the tools, knowledge, and motivation to work with my patients to improve their health by helping them lose and maintain a healthy weight. I envision creating a partnership with my patients where we engage in a journey that will change their lives for the better.
