For years, I struggled with my weight. Since I was in my 20s, and especially after having kids, the battle with weight loss has been an ongoing rollercoaster. I tried countless diets, each time losing weight only to gain it back—and then some. Every time I thought I had it figured out, the scale would creep back up again. It seemed like nothing ever worked.
When I turned 50, I hit a wall. No matter what I tried, I couldn't lose the weight. I joined a gym and started going consistently six days a week, while also signing up for Weight Watchers. I lost 20 pounds, but after that, I couldn't move the needle any further. My life was consumed with trying every method I could think of to lose weight, but I was stuck.
Then, last year, everything changed. My primary care doctor introduced me to Dr. Hameed, and it felt like a turning point. Dr. Hameed listened to me and understood how my body was working— or, more accurately, how it wasn’t working. My metabolism had slowed to a halt. I was pre-diabetic, and I worried about my future. But Dr. Hameed didn't make me feel like I wasn't doing enough. She was caring, empathetic, and empowering, and she didn’t just tell me to “work out more and eat less.” Instead, she explained the different components of weight loss—why my body wasn’t responding as it should—and gave me a plan to finally start seeing results.
Her weight loss program was different from anything I had tried before. Dr. Hameed didn’t just focus on one aspect of health. She educated me on how my body needed to function to lose weight and maintain a healthy balance. And for the first time, I felt like I had control over my own body again.
So far, I’ve lost about 60 pounds, and I feel incredible. I have more energy, my confidence is back, and I’m motivated to continue this journey. Most importantly, I feel mentally strong and focused, something I never thought I would experience again.
I cannot recommend Dr. Hameed enough. If it weren’t for her, I honestly don’t know where I’d be—physically or mentally—right now. She gave me the tools and support I needed to succeed, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.
